When playing classic games like Castlevania and Zelda an error pops up saying game pak error.
Solution
This problem usually occurs when playing classic like Castlevania and Zelda II: The adventure of Link.
To solve this problem just copy this text below on your notepad and save as "Vba-over.ini".

2. paste the text in your notepad
3. Save as "Vba-over.ini"
4. Put your Vba-over.ini where your visualboy advance.exe is located

I m using version 1.8.0 beta 3
What game are you playing?

Mine doesn't show a game pack error screen, but it shows a black screen all the time and still doesn't work. So apart from screens, nothing changed. My emulator's version # is 1.7.2.560 (whatever that's supposed to mean).

ReplyDeleteFor the guys who cant move: I have the same problem with my castlevania rom, because simon don't move. Check the size of your rom. My first rom have 1 mb, and dont work, then i made a search and i find a rom of 4 mb, in romhustler, and this last rom works fine. Or check the region of the rom. Sorry my bad english, i just want to help.
ReplyDeleteI'm using ubuntu, and I got VBA from the software center. Where do I even begin to look for the executable file for VBA? I pinned the app to the launcher, and even if I hadn't, I'd just get it from the Apps section of the Dash.

Be sure to copy and paste ALL OF THE TEXT into your Vba-over.ini file and save that file into the same file as your VisualBoyAdvance file.

ReplyDeleteI will be honest, I tried copying the text into the vba.ini file and did save it to the folder with the vba.exe file. I am using VBA 19.4 and it only gives me a black screen, and nothing else trying to play the legend of zelda classic nes series ROM on the emulator. It is the US/Europe ROM and it just gives a black screen, so is there another way with the same vba file that this can get fixed for me and others that still can't play because of the black screen?

Instead of creating any notepad files, y'all can just go to Options then Emulator and then change the Save Type from Automatic to EEPROM. It worked for me at least and now I can play the Classic NES LoZ.
