The key in winning this game is balance K&M's unit can be categories in to 3.
Serf- The delivery guys
Towns people - Woodcutter, Baker. Farmer, etc
Militia - Soldiers, Knigths, etc
Food shortage
The most common problem in K&M is food. To solution this first create wine yard. Wines are fast to create. Unlike bread and sausage it has only one process. Wine can only replenish half of the hunger. Once you bought yourself some time using the wine start to create bread and sausage. Do it one at a time.
Maintaining your army
Create a stock house at the edge of the town
Bring your army near the stock house
Rather than making a big battalion create a smaller platoon
Feed your army early to prevent congestion
Create your army by batch at different times so the feeding time is different from the others
Bug
when feeding your armies sometimes one of your soldier is neglected
To remedy this split the unit from his company and feed him individually
Basic strategy
Put melee units infront and archers at the back
Split a small group of melee units then use them to provoke an attack from the enemy lead them to your main force.
