How to troubleshoot microphone

Problem
My Microphone cannot be detected even it is plug in.


1.  Check the settings

• Go to Control Panel
• Then Sound
• Go to Recording tab.(If there is no other tab check if there is another program interfering with the microphone .)
•  Click levels and increase the "Microphone boost".  Also increase the level of "Microphone" 

2.  If there is another problem interfering (in my case MSI).  Check the settings.
